Walk-in-Interview for the Post of Research Consultant and Senior Research Fellow in National Institute Of Medical Statistics (Indian Council of Medical Research), New Delhi

Interested candidates are invited to attend walk-in-interview for the following posts under the project “HIV Sentinel Surveillance”

Project Objective: To management, analysis of HSS 2010-11 data and estimation of HIV burden in India and its states using EPP/Spectrum.

1. Post: Research Consultant
Number of Post: One
Duration: One year
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000/-
Qualification Required: M.Phil./Ph.D. in Statistics/Bio-statistics/Social Sciences/ Population Studies/ Public health. Knowledge of handling statistical packages for health data analysis and report writting.
Experience Required: Three years research experience in the field of health research preferable HIV/AIDS

Age: Below 40 years on the date of interview
Place of work: Delhi
Responsibilities: Assist principal investigator(s) in project activities through
i) Review and collecting existing demographic and program data, Triangulation and evaluation of epidemiological data on HIV/AIDS, appraisal of epidemiological assumptions as inputted in EPP/Spectrum;
ii) Write technical report for estimation of HIV burden in India and its States;
Interested candidates are invited to attend walk-in-interview for the following posts under the project “Knowledge Network-Avahan”

Project Objective: to prepare evidence-based monographs, reports and peer-reviewed journal articles on truckers and clients of female sex workers.

2. Post: Senior Research Fellow
Number of Post: One
Duration: One year
Remuneration: Rs. 18,000/- (plus HRA)
Qualification Required: Masters degree in Statistics/ Bio-statistics /Social Sciences /
Population Studies/ Public health. Knowledge of handling statistical packages for health data analysis
Experience Required: Two years research experience in the field of HIV/AIDS
Age: Below 35 years on the date of interview
Place of work: Delhi

Responsibilities:
i) Review of literature on research and program involving truckers and clients of female sex workers;
ii) Assist in analysis of behavioral, biological and programme data;
iii) Assist in writing monographs, reports and papers for previewed publications;
iv) Participate in training programs/project review meeting

Note:
1. The above position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with above mentioned project. The engagement may be terminated at any time without notice.
2. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview and discussion.
3. The initial appointment will be for the period of 3/6 months which may be extended based on the performance of candidate and the project requirement.
4. The candidate engaged for above position will have no claim for regular appointment in NIMS or the ICMR or any other institute of the Council. These positions do not carry any other benefits.
5. Candidates should send their Bio-data with a photograph affixed thereon by 25/11/2010, and bring with them the originals as well as photocopies of certificates and documents and other testimonials to support the claim of experience etc. for production at the time of interview.
6. Candidates coming for interview should bring an extra copy of Bio-data and a recent passport size photograph.
