Applications are invited for the post of Inspector of Colleges in the Pay Band Scale of Rs. 37,400 – 67,000/- (Pay Band – 4) with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/- plus allowances as per University rules
QUALIFICATIONS :
ESSENTIAL:
Candidates should possess uniformly good academic record at Master’s andBachelor’s level with at least 55% marks at the post-graduate level. Stipulations in respect of 55% marks at post-graduate level may be relaxed for candidates who have already been working in the University system.
A doctorate Degree or research work of merit as evidence through publication in recognised Research Journals
DESIRABLE:
At least 10 years experience in teaching and / or administration in any Institution of higher learning of Government / Quasi-Government organization
Minimum Age: 40 years as on 01-01-2011
The post is a whole-time one carrying usual dearness and other allowances and benefits relating to leave, retirement, provident fund etc. as admissible under the rules of the University.
Appointment shall, in the first instance, be made on probation for one year which may be extended for another year at the discretion of the appropriate authority of the University. During or at the end of the period of probation, the services of the concerned Officer may be terminated with one month’s notice or with one month’s salary in lieu thereof, without assigning any reason therefore. On satisfactory completion of the probationary period the concerned incumbent will be considered for being confirmed in service. Stipulations in respect of Experience and Age may be relaxed by the Syndicate in case of exceptionally brilliant candidates on the recommendation of the relevant Standing Committee. The choice of the Selecting Authority need not necessarily be confined only to those who formally apply. Candidates already in employment should apply through proper channel.
Applications (7 copies) in prescribed form obtainable from the University Sales Counter at College Street Campus, Kolkata-700 073 on payment of Rs.300/- (Rs.75/- for SC/ ST/Physically Challenged candidates on submission of relevant documents) should reach the office of the undersigned not later than 10-01-2011
Applications in the prescribed proforma may also be downloaded from the University Website and such applications duly attached with a Bank Demand Draft of Rs. 300/- ( Rs. 75/- for SC/ST/Physically Challenged candidates together with all the required documents) or US $ 20 drawn in favour of the Registrar, University of Calcutta, alongwith the filled-in prescribed form should reach the office of the undersigned not later than 10-01-2011
